5 million Iraqis have been displaced from their homes since the start of the war. 2.5 million have fled the country, most do not consider returning to their homeland an option. The Iraqi refugees are among the most traumatized in modern history. 80% have experienced the death of a family member, torture, or kidnapping. Among the most traumatized are the children.
When you think of the Iraqis, think of the soldiers that come to hoping to impart some good. Think of the families that have to sacrifice so their dads and husbands and brothers and fathers could give themselves.
No, war isn’t pretty, and to be honest, if a candidate could promise NO WAR and actually deliver on it, I probably would vote for him. But the fact of the matter is we are fallen people. And evil is something we have to fight, DAILY.
Whatever it is we have to do, let’s not forget to pray for all the families affected by war.
