Did you know that some people actually eat armadillos? When hubby was a small child, he took his first trip to the US and his one goal was to come home from Texas having caught himself an armadillo. I love this story because I can imagine him as a little boy walking around Houston looking for this animal. Today I was browsing through Alan Davidson’s book The Oxford Companion to Food

I can handle that. I had a Bayawak (Monitor Lizard)when I was kid. I think it is the exotic counterpart of Armadillo. Maybe it tastes like chicken…

I don’t know if I would eat armadillo but I know my fiance would join you. The French are well known to eat anything on four legs. 😉
It was prepared by boiling it with ginger then prepared as adobong tuyo with bay leaves and lots of chili. Mostly it is served as pulutan(appetizer)and not as viand. Some prepared it in Igado style. Yumm??? How about Dagang Bukid, Musang, Sawa ,Salagubang, Camaro, Balang and Palaka?
