The study is now almost completely organized. There are a couple of shelves left to go through but they’re mostly in order and just need re-evaluation and purging…. like the science shelves, which we have 5 of… and which I plan to trim down to 2 or 3 — just the best books instead of the collection that we have right now. The liturgical year shelf also needs to be cleared — I think I’ll switch to handled file boxes — one per season. The magazines need to be culled of ideas so I can donate them! And our devotional materials really should be on an altar, which needs to be constructed, somewhere…. the hallway? Hubby thinks it’s too small. The fireplace mantel has been used as a temporary altar since we moved here, but I don’t like that. There’s that little cove in the master bedroom where Yena’s dresser nicely fits, and if we take it out of there I really won’t have a place to put it, but it would be a wonderful spot for a long kneeler and a real altar, like the one my parents had in their bedroom in just such a cove between their built-in closets.
The plastic boxes/toy organizer will have to go elsewhere — probably in Paco’s closet, for their toys… and the math stuff will have to be relocated… somewhere more accessible and user-friendly. In its place we’re thinking of building a pull-down (or pull-up) table, or hmmmm…. maybe even just a door atop two file cabinets. The big file cabinet has to go… maybe Dad’s office, upstairs, or maybe we’ll move the office downstairs…. in which case Yena’s dresser will have a place of its own!
But I meant to post about stamp collecting, and here I am making a post about projects… so I’ll just make another post.
