Mothers: Soldiers on the Home Front
The article is spot on in a lot of places, but it’s the comments that really make me think. I am so blessed to be able to stay at home with my children. But it is also a commitment we made early on in our marriage. We could have bigger, better things; I could be more “respected” in career-women circles, but I would not trade such rewards for the unsung rewards of being a full time mom. Praying for all you moms out there who *have to* work, praying that one day soon you’ll be able to come home and stay home full time.
I agree. But sometimes, I complain that I should be working instead of staying home, but reading your blog helped me to realized that I’m bless and that I should be happy and content, that I get to spend time with my daughter.
Thanks Noemi. I agree that it sometimes can be challenging to be a stay-at-home mom. I hope you’re taking time off every now and then — I personally find this necessary. I leave the kids with my dh and go off to the library or bookstore or my favorite international food store. Does wonders!
