[sigh…]

it’s been cold and gloomy outside the past several days! i’m getting a bit tired of it, though i’m glad too ’cause i got to really focus on testing recipes and writing.

planted out the Ben Sarek Black Currant today. tomorrow i need to plant the red currant. big mistake: currants need pollinators, and i don’t know if a black will pollinate a red:-(

all babies doing well. need to plant out the swiss chard tomorrow. i also plan to finish the rest of my winter-sowing so i can put away my seeds until it’s seed-exchange season again.

the chilies are actually up! and San Marzano too. i’m surprised, thought they wouldn’t wake up until May.

2 of the 4 roses are alive, hurrah! don’t know about the other two though. i’m not sure what to do with the main trunks though.

the hydrangea is looking rather poorly. last year not knowing what i should do i decided to just cut it down to the ground. it still grew into a bushy 3 feet tall and wide. now those brown branches are just… there. i do see some green shoots breaking out from the ground.

when are the tulips coming? june? i’d like to see some red!
