Sarah, the French bread recipe is here. It’s not complete as it’s a very involved process and I simply can’t do justice to it in this blog. I suggest you join the yahoogroups mixer-owners if you want more detailed instructions, or the Sourdough newsgroup. There is an unbelievable amout of information out there that if I tried to put everything I’ve learned here, that is all that I’d be blogging about (not a bad idea, but not a good time for me to do this). I haven’t even touched the tip of the iceberg. Perhaps there’s even a blogger there somewhere that takes this further than I have. If you’re looking for books, there’s Peter Reinhart’s “The Bread Baker’s Apprentice” and Ed Wood’s “Sourdoughs from Antiquity”. “Baking with Julia” is also a good beginner’s baking bible, and then there’s Collister and Blake’s “The Bread Book”. If you want to explore healthy grains, “Laurel’s Kitchen Bread Book” is a must! The King Arthur Flour forum is another place you can get some help. My family loves bread, but hubby’s wheat allergy keeps us from baking often. These days I experiment with spelt and quinoa and other grains, but I haven’t had a EUREKA recipe that I’ve fallen in love with so I haven’t posted anything here.
