An old pic I’ve been meaning to post here. Yena turned 4 last December, but I didn’t have time to make her cake until 4 days later, in the middle of packing for another trip the next day. My poor kids. Last year none of them got their birthday portraits, and their birthday cakes were either store-bought or late. This year we are *not* traveling near birthdates, AT ALL!
I made the chocolate layers from a Fannie Farmer recipe (one of my favorites, called Huntington Chocolate Cake, I think) — the frosting is simply sweetened whipped cream, and the toppings? Pringles-shaped chocs from Hershey’s called Swoops, on sale for 99 cents (after we took a bite we said — no wonder). But they made birthday girl happy, that’s all that counts. Next birthday she wants a Princess cake (yup, those green things — yum!).
Hi Stef!
I love the cute smile behind the cake 🙂
Can I have an itty-bitty slice? 😀
