Tim Tams

Last week, the 16-year-old and I went to Jungle Jim’s so I can buy ingredients for dishes my brother was requesting, and she picked up a package of (expensive) Tim Tams. (There was a strawberry version at the clearance aisle but I didn’t get it, because sugar. LOL.) We had gotten Tim Tams before — just because I love trying out stuff that I had heard about growing up but never got a chance to eat — but she doesn’t remember. And she wanted the Tim Tams because she wanted to try the “Tim Tam Slam”.

We tried a Tim Tam, 1/3 each for Dad, me, and her. Yum yum.

But yesterday, she showed me how to do the Tim Tam Slam:

Basically, we failed. The coffee just wouldn’t go through the Tim Tam, and we were worried it would disintegrate, so we stopped. And then I had to finish her Tim Tam because she found it too sweet. An hour later, the 9-year-old wanted to try a Tim Tam too, and I end up finishing his because he too, found it too sweet. So much for avoiding sugar.

Well this morning, I HAD to try the Tim Tam Slam again, because “16” didn’t finish up her coffee, because she isn’t a coffee person. But this time instead of following Emmy’s instructions, I bit off about 1/4 inch off of each end so that there is no possibility of the coffee failing to go up the “straw”.

And this time I succeeded! Absolutely amazing chocolate coffee treat. Whoever thought of it is genius.

Yay me. Yay breakfast.
