I haven’t been keeping track of Nino’s reading the past couple of months. He had asked for a vacation from school this year as he realized that his siblings were officially off school.
So far the summer has been spent pretty much the same way the school year is spent: some traveling, lots of reading, lots of playing.
He’s
– camped once
– spent a week in Delaware and Pennsylvania with Dad and me
– gotten tired of gymnastics
– gone canoeing and paddle-boating with the big boys, Ate Yena, Dad and me
– met family from the Philippines at the giant family reunion in St. Louis
– been working on two books, Kestin and 2027, and has greatly improved his writing, including use of quotation marks
– played with bugs
– been riding his bike regularly
– still devouring books like nobody’s business.
– watched My Fair Lady and The Wizard of Oz at the theatre
– made bread with Kuya Migi
– made cookies with Ate Yena
– watched parts of John Adams with Dad and me
– been to the ballgame with the whole family
– helped Mom gather seeds from our plants
– gone birding with Dad
– really gotten into the Redwall Books
