This was originally posted on the baking blog I was co-writing last year. I’m copying over my stuff since I don’t write there anymore (we still own the stuff we wrote so copyright isn’t a problem), but I thought it would make it easier for me and readers looking for my stuff to find it all in one place. I’ve already copied much of the sourdough material (click on Sourdoughs in the Categories on the right — still have to tidy up that list, sorry). I’ll try to finish all the baking stuff by year’s end. Then the Asian recipes early next year. The only stuff I can’t copy is the stuff I wrote for Like to Cook as they get exclusive rights to those. But I plan to finish linking sometime next year.
Springerle mold (nativity scene) and recipe from House on the Hill. Yena’s was an old Valentine’s cookie stamp from a kids’ baking set we got her big sis years ago, combined with a fluted cookie cutter.
I’ll upload a picture of the gold-painted one when I find it.
Those are beautiful! Where did you get the mold?
The mold is from houseonthehill.net, Michelle! They are so beautiful, the maker(s?) is a real artisan. So detailed, especially the deep ones. Must really love what they do to have that kind of patience!
