The kids have been begging to watch it. They have friends who have already watched it or are getting ready to watch it. But there’s no way I can, in good conscience, let my kids see this at this age. While a part of me, like the reviewer, is hit with nostalgia — I wasn’t a Transformers fan but my brothers and some friends were — I’m afraid this is another movie we’ll just have to miss.
And from Catholic News. So disappointing. Yet no surprise.
As a Christian myself, I have to say: Transformers is a very good movie that is MUCH better than just about anything that I’ve seen in a good while. I do admit that the “m” word was a problem for me though: it just didn’t fit. But otherwise, this was a great movie that has a lot more positive outweighing the bad. Don’t worry about what those hypocrites at Focus on the Family have to say: they’re only really happy when they know they’re able to think for other people. Don’t let ’em think for you. Go see the movie for yourself and if you think your kids can handle it, let ’em see it. Don’t go by anyone else’s say-so about it.
Thanks for your input, Chris. I think it’s great that there are Christians who can see the good in movies like these. However, I’ve gotten much more picky over the years; pickier, I daresay, than the folks at FotF. Not even counting the “m” word there’s so much there I’d rather avoid at this point. There are other movies we can watch after all. We haven’t even watched most of the films that PIO approves of, so that tells you something right there.
what is the m word?
Anon, read the linked review from PIO.
