Lately, we’ve been getting more serious about vegetarian meals…. yesterday’s lunch was grilled zucchini, roasted eggplants and brown rice. The kids are complaining a bit, but are eating, albeit REALLY SMALL portions… we figure they’ll get used to it one of these days.
Meanwhile, last night, while Mom and Yena were driving, lost in downtown Loveland:
Yena: Mom, did Jesus eat good food?
Mom: I’m sure He did, Yen.
Yena: No, I mean GOOD food!
Mom: What do you mean?
Yena: You know, like broccoli, or carrots….
Mom: Oh, you mean, food that’s good for you?
Yena: Yes!
Mom: I’m sure He did, Yen.
Yena: No He didn’t.
Mom: Why do you say that?
Yena: In the picture, all He’s eating is bread and wine!
Mom: Really? No pictures of Him eating fruit? Or veggies?
Yena: Well, I think there may have been a picture of him eating grapes, but I’m not sure.
Mom: I’m sure he ate good food, Yen, to set an example for us….
Yena: …..
So…. what should I have said differently? Does anyone have a picture of our Lord eating veggies? Please send it to me ASAP!!!
Attempting to answer my own question. I’ll have to borrow this:
I showed it to Yena and yes, she did get the message.
