It is not whether I want to become a slave of Mary and Jesus, or whether the word “slave” offends me. I am ALREADY a slave. Slave to my own sinful nature. Slave to my desires, my passions. Slave to my limited imaginings. Slave to my false wisdom. Slave to my weaknesses. Slave to my personal addictions. Slave to my pride and my selfishness. I am nothing but a slave. A creature that will disintegrate to dust at my end.

But I have been given the gift of choice. To continue being a slave to myself, slave to a creation made from DIRT!, slave to a master who will bring me nothing but pain and suffering….

I have been given the choice to serve instead a Master who has promised the reward of Eternity, a Master who supplies the graces I need to serve Him.

Lord, grant me the Grace to choose to serve You, always.
