Someone posted at the 4Real forums about the documentary “Into the Silence”. You can watch the trailer here. There’s an English version of the site, but you can only access the trailer from the German version (the button on the bottom right). The pictures are breathtaking!
Of some interest is the Chartreuse liqueur which is produced by the monks and is a source of income for them. You can read about its history here.
More information about the Carthusian monks and nuns are available at their official website. There are Carthusian charterhouses in three continents, including one in Vermont. I am fascinated by stories like this because I once considered becoming a nun (don’t laugh now!).
oooh liquer is goood!!! ano to? frenchy liquer? niceeee sistah!!!
*smoochie boochies*
Well if you did pursue entering the convent, I’m sure your fellow sisters wouldn’t be short of great-tasting meals. 🙂
Green liquer and the story is quite interesting.
By the way, what is the name of the flower you use for your heading? It’s gorgeous!
Toni, thanks. Hehehe… I’m sure they’ll have fun with my disasters too — those happen too often to really be ignored:D
Mila, I’m sorry to say, I forget!! Maybe I’ll find it in my gardening records somewhere. I grew this last year and took the picture. My gardening blog is missing a lot of information, I hope to update it before the end of the year though (riiiiiight). I’m guessing some kind of tagetes (marigold) but argh. I grew a bunch of different kinds, so can’t give you the cultivar right now.
love chartreuse.
best drink ever
