So today someone sent me a link to old cartoons at YouTube, including some that I watched as a child of 10: Voltes V, etc. LOL. Six a.m. and I was laughing my head off. I can’t believe I watched this stuff back then. They’re the kind of shows I don’t let my kids watch today.

It got me to wondering if there were any videos on youtube that were actually worth watching, so I searched for Julia Child. And found two (more really, but the others don’t do anything but make fun of her):

Well, the first one still mocks, referring to Jeffrey Alford as a “trannie” (I finally figured out what that meant) — where he bakes with Julia. A foodie would know, of course, that Mr. Alford is *not* a trannie. The other one is really fun to watch: Julia Child on cookbooks, including a “singing cookbook”.

While I’m waiting for the fried green tomatoes to cook, however, I had some time to waste so I looked for these:

Julia Child videos at PBS, where you can also see Jeffrey Alford and his wife Naomi Duguid baking with Julia. Or, if you can’t have enough of Julia, here’s more from Google Video. I looked for Mollie Katzen videos but found nothing:(.

After turning the tomatoes, I clicked some more:
Michael Lawrence’s Memory and Imagination series — okay, so it’s not all food or cooking anymore, but educational — info-junkie me loves these.

And for some reason, that led me to this, which is probably more appropriate to post on our homeschooling blog — but since some of my readers here are fellow educators/homeschoolers I’m sure you won’t mind me posting this. As for my other readers not interested in lesson plans and the like, I’m sure you’ll be happy because that led me to another incredible find: The Great American Potluck. You can even submit your own recipes!

Back to those tomatoes.
