We are delighted in this family that the movie is out on DVD (especially those of us who stayed home from the theatre with the littles :)! ) Would love a turksh delight recipe, too!
I watched the dvd last night. It was wonderful. I wish I have read the book version. Very nice movie. It has no swearing at all and that’s what I like best. Actually, my 4 year old daugher is watching it right now.
we’ve made turkish delight before and i wasn’t too happy with it. it’s basically LOTS of gelatin mixed with lemon juice (you can also use rosewater) and sugar. Then it’s left to set until it’s really firm, then cut into squares and dipped in confectioner’s sugar. It was really Paco’s project, and he ate probably 3/4 of the whole thing (a 9×13 Pyrex dish!), and loved it. We all though it was a little bleeeh… I’ll post a recipe when I’ve found a vegetarian version.
Isn’t Narnia awesome? It still takes my breath away, even on our small TV.
I’m looking forward to that Turkish delight session. The book got me curious about it – I have not the slightest idea what it is.
