yay. happy birthday to me:-). it’s early as i write this… waiting to call St. Rose of Lima to find out what time their Masses are, if they’re celebrating any today. yesterday i called and was told to call again this morning. never heard of a church whose Masses are weather-dependent, but oh well….

traveling the last 5 hours home today, so Bong and the kids are resting up…. i intended to sleep in but kept on waking up and remembering things i needed to do/plan for.

talking the last several days about our family’s New Year’s resolutions — funny how when all was said and done and i had a chance to check out the CCM mail that everyone’s resolutions largely coincided with ours: taking better care of oneself and one’s family, healthwise; better discipline with oneself and with one’s family; more focus on spiritual growth…. it was interesting (and somewhat a relief) to see that these families i see us as “taking the journey with” have the same hurdles to get over, but remain focused on the same goals — becoming the best people (and Catholics) God is calling us to be, and getting ourselves and our families to heaven.

some specifics i better list here, might help with accountability at the end of the year:-D

1. eat healthier, more fruits and vegetables, grind our own grain, get off dairy (at least until all allergies are resolved), exercise regularly, plan menus better.

2. a more efficient plan for the whole family, so chores and other household responsibilities get accomplished with minimal fuss. Flylady!

3. goodbye to debt for good!

4. go to confession once a month, finish Great Adventure!, Bible study with family once a week; find out where there’s Perpetual Adoration locally.

5. no birthday parties. travel instead.

6. no buying on dates with the kids. focus instead on just having a great time together.

7. completely declutter that basement so we can mirror the walls!

8. plan lessons better. Fridays reserved for art and music appreciation, mentoring meetings and preparation for the following week.

personal goals:

9. finish ONE MAJOR project this year: the Tagalog course for kids!

10. work on the website one hour each week. only!

gotta go call that church.
