Our Favorite Homeschooling Resources

Wow, I first wrote this page in ~2001. Back then we were with CompuServe. How things have changed since then.

We design our own curricula, until high school, when the child either designs his/her own, or with help from me, or we go with an online provider, or enrol in virtual academy.

But here are my go-to sources, or favorites after homeschooling for ~14 years:

Getting started with a homeschooling philosophy / Books that influenced me / Designing a Curriculum:

Dumbing Us Down by John Taylor Gatto
The Lost Tools of Learning, an essay by Dorothy Sayers
A Pocketful of Pinecones by Karen Andreola
For the Children’s Sake by Susan Schaefer Macaulay
Real Learning by Elizabeth Foss
The Original Homeschooling Series by Charlotte Mason
The Well-Trained Mind by Susan Wise Bauer
Designing Your Own Classical Curriculum by Laura Berquist
