I wrote this July 5 in response to a question at CTG, and so I’m posting here in hopes that its helpful for my kids and anyone else passing through:

what is sainthood?

humility humility humility. if you can figure out how to be little and hidden, to desire no one’s approval except the Lord’s, to seek no one’s attention, to have no need to carry huge crosses but to be happy in carrying the hundreds of little ones your state in life requires you to carry each day, to be thankful for whatever trials He sends your way, to be kind to everyone you encounter, to think charitably of everyone, to seek peace in the Heart of Jesus at all times, never allowing yourself to be troubled by the world’s concerns, to be able to receive rebukes without animosity, trusting everything into God’s hands and His grace, to quietly be about your business, keeping your eyes on your work and not paying attention to what everyone else is doing or not doing, ever keeping Christ’s will for your life in front of you… that is sainthood. to make these choices every day, every minute…. and it is the hardest task you will ever face. that we all face. God bless, may we all be saints and see each other in heaven one day!
