SOMETHING is eating my tomatoes! Bunnies? Deer? I don’t know…. but I’m almost wishing I had a BB gun. Or knew how to skin a rabbit for paella.

I totally know that anger. I think I have rabbits eating my marigolds…which is better than the tomatoes. My neighbor puts up a temporary fence around his garden, metal posts and a green plastic type fence. I think we’re about to do that. In the meantime, I’m sprinkling cayenne on everything to give that varmint a bad taste in its mouth!

Hi Stef! My tomatoes were ravaged by giant caterpillars (well, they were ordinary caterpillares but they look giant to me). So everyday, I have to sit and look at all the leaves and branches and take them off one at a time.

I agree, fencing and cayenne might be the best idea, although it could also be a creepy crawly. Hornworms are most famous for their tomato destruction. They do become beautiful moths, though. We were tired this year so we only have broccoli, herbs and sunflowers.

Thank you for your comments on my blog! I’ve heard of rosquillos but not saniculas. I blush because I’m only half Puerto Rican, so I’m not as up on the cuisine as my full blooded cousins. My father also wasn’t into cooking until we kids moved out. Now he makes excellent arroz y gandules and Puerto Rican style pork.

I hope you are having an easier time with your discipline issues. The stories I could tell! But she’s cute and keeps us entertained!

    Peace and Laughter,

I’m about ready to give up. All the eggplants are gone. Waaah. At least there are still 4 tomatoes. I think the rest of the summer will be spent preparing the beds (and cages and netting, etc.) ready for the following year. Sigh….
